Friends of the Pyrenees offers Pyrenees self catering
accommodation to groups of befriended or kin
families with kids up to 14 members.
The formula includes a 2 weeks
(July-August) or 3 weeks (other months)
stay + up to at least 10 weeks more a year. What you pay is
a
Group Membership fee of 1.800€ a year
only. The year starts upon
receipt of your membership fee.
Extra
costs are limited : energy (water+electricity+gas+wood)
calculated according electricity use at 0,15€ per Kw electricity, more
wood wood at market price and a cleaning (75€).

Our formula:
the sustainable alternative to Ariege Pyrenees self catering group
holiday rental :
As a
small group you pay 1.800€ a year for
a 2 weeks (July-August) or 3 weeks (June, September or
low season). This is booked as a One year membership fee: for more
stays within a year you only pay 10€ per night per person (your
group members don't need to come all together each time) or 50€ per
group overnight.
Extra
costs for staying at our selfcatering Friends of the Pyrenees clubhouse
are limited : energy (water+electricity+gas+wood) calculated
according electricity use at 0,15€ per Kw electricity, more wood for
the open fire at market price + cleaning up (75€)

its members gets free acces at members conditions as long as your group
is a member. The only rule is = those who've got less stays come first.

Friends of
the Pyrenees mountains offers more than mere self catering
holiday rental in the Pyrenees :family holidays , international

The Ariege
Pyrenees are a wild beautiful mountain area full of blue lakes and
marked walking trails. There are plenty of prehistoric caves, medieval
townies, chapels and castles an de wild and beautiful Pyrenees
mountains around. Still brown bears and lynx living here.
Le Castel our self catering accommodation in the Pyrenees
mountains in a typical old Ariege farmhouse (oldest parts 17th century) offers cheap

10 m) heated by electricity or wood

on the 1st floor :

"white room" 2 beds + place for one more mattress or a baby's bed, a

Family group Pyrenees holidays :
- comfort is simple but there's
all you need : a dish-washer and a washing-machine
- living room,
bath-room and sleeping rooms can be heated. The boilers heat the
shower-room and WC's. If you're coming for a winter stay, ask Danielle
to heat beforehand.
- There's no sheets or blankets : bring your sleeping bags with you its
easier for a one or two days hike too.
- In the garden you could barbecue
- last but not least : One can feel at
home in our self catering guesthouse as well in a group as on one's
own. The house is large enough to alternate being together and on your
own. According to the number of people one can use one or more rooms.
The fire-place invites to meditate gazing into the flames as well as to
reading and gathering for a drink or a game.
Tarif to the right,
other costs : shared costs of
water+wood+electricity+gas at 0,15€ per Kw.
More wood at market price. + cleaning 75€.

What you
pay is a membership fee, it offers more than a mere self catering
guesthouse in France.
You get a
real cheap holidays home for a full year at a 2 weeks rent's rate.
You pay a
membership fee 1.800€ a year.
Year
starts at arrival of your membership fee.
Included
is a 2 weeks (July-August) or 3 weeks stay.
For extra
stays you only pay 10€ per night per person.

Group Membership (1 full year membership fee)
* *Groups get the house for their group only. In stead of staying in the house groups
may prefer a made to measure guided hike.
As a group you can deduce your
membership fee from total cost.
* Families in July August, Family encounter (maximum 2 other
families) =
private bedroom for each couple of parents,
children share the childrens dormitory,
Rule : aperitif and super are organized together or in turn
at shared cost.
Members generally have high school degree
or higher.
Except July-August, Easter or end of year
you'll probably be on your own. If you want to use the house for your
family or group only, prefer group membership.

Please note :
1. You commit yourself to take care of our self catering
guesthouse as you would take care of your home. An insurance covering
your civil responsibility is a must.
2. pets and other animals are not allowed.
3. There are no sheets and blankets, you need
to bring your own.
4.
If you need spare gas, buy it yourself and deduce costs from your
deposit.
5. At arrival a 200€ deposit is asked. Charges are deduced
from it at leaving.
Please don't join just because
our accommodation in the Pyrenees is cheap, we do know hiring a gite
costs up to twice the membership fee.

How to get to your self catering group accommodation
in the Pyrenees ?
- by car by the A66 (Toulouse, Pamiers),
the N20 (Foix, Tarascon
sur Ariège)
and the D8 (Tarascon sur
Ariège, Capoulet). One can get to Miglos from Niaux
but driving along the D8 until Capoulet is
easier : turn the litle road up to your left, about 1 km and there
you are. Our house looks like it is on the photo.
- by train : several night trains
from Paris to Toulouse and one of them going through
to Tarascon sur
Ariège. At Tarascon
station ask for a taxi.
- Although you can get here by
train or by plane (Toulouse or Carcassonne) staying at the house you
need a car (of course not if you're booking a hike) : shops are
in Tarascon (about 10' by car)

guess we cannot earn the necessary money to run our organization, the
house, our trekkings and hikes only through membership fees.

one of the best European language schools, to provide high level crash
courses Dutch for executive managers and the higher educated.
Richard our
former senior benevolent is working full time as our employee now.
Richard has a
background in Organizational Development, expertise in learning and
personal development strategies (he teaches that topic at Continuing
Studies of Lille II University).
He's fluent in
English, German and French.
Richard loves
teaching his mother tongue in an efficient one to one setting and is a
real expert in client- and dialogue centered efficient chrash learn Dutch
courses.
